Mielikki: Finland's Permanent Representation to the European Union

Finland’s Prime Minister Katainen opened the re-designed building and office spaces at Avenue de Cortenbergh 80 and praised the interior: “The open-minded, functional and bright interior matches well with the notion of Finnish work community”. For Muotohiomo, the task was to realize creative workspaces for 110 people at the Embassy, but also to communicate Finnish values and qualities. Nature, forest and new designs have been the source of inspiration for our planning process. One of the main aims was to meet the challenging expectations of the highest level of political and cultural decision makers. In the end, a key issue was to integrate all interior solutions into the Belgian architecture plans – and to listen to and fullfill the needs of its visitors and users.
