Karelia-Upofloor Oy is Finland’s leading manufacturer of hard wood floors. Saima is its high end product family, which was relaunched in 2009.

Muotohiomo carried out a design review of the company’s Saima hardwood floor origins, a review that documented the key role played by designers Tapio Wirkkala and reference to Aino Aalto’s interior designs. MH designed the new Saima Raita colour to extend the product family. Saima went on to win a Red Dot Design Award in 2009.
